About Mae! แม่!
Mae (แม่) means mother in Thai — a word heard daily in every household growing up. Whenever we needed something — comfort, answers, or food — we called out for our mums. And they always knew exactly what we needed.
That’s how Mae! was born. The exclamation mark isn’t just a stylistic choice — it’s a call from a child who knows their mum has the answer. In my case, it was always chilli sauce. Spicy, flavourful, and perfectly matched to every dish. My mum just knew. And now, I’m sharing that same love and knowing comfort with you.
In Thai cuisine, sauces aren’t just condiments — they’re essential. Each dish often calls for a different kind of chilli blend to balance, brighten, or deepen the flavour. From tangy dips to bold meat pairings, chilli sauces are at the heart of every meal.
Mae! แม่ was born from that tradition — and from the heart of my own home. Growing up, chilli sauce was a constant at our table. My mum introduced it to me when I was young, and it quickly became something I couldn’t eat without. Some days, I craved a milder, fragrant heat; other days, I needed something punchy to bring a dish to life. That simple joy of adjusting heat to mood, meal, and moment is what inspired me to share these sauces with you.
My mum is from Buriram, Roi Et, a province in northeastern Thailand known for its distinct regional flavours. Each province has its own culinary identity, and from hers comes the rich, savoury chilli sauce you’ll find in our Nam Jim Jaew — a perfect pairing for grilled meats, rice dishes, or anything that needs a bold, satisfying kick.
Every jar is made in small batches, using traditional recipes and fresh ingredients, with chillies sourced directly from Thailand. Whether you're a chilli lover or just starting to explore Thai flavours, we hope these sauces bring warmth, spice, and a sense of home to your table — just like they have to mine.
